Notes: Abbott Widdicomb died suddenly of pneumonia on New Year's Eve 1915, at the age of 33... William Balhatchet, Jr. immigrated from England at the age of 5, his family settling in Chicago. He attended the Michigan Military Academy in Orchard Lake (the prestigious boarding school went bankrupt in 1908. Today Orchard Lake St. Mary's is housed on the former campus)... Tim Quinn was a two-time national 880 champion in high school, and his 1:57.2 was a national record. He attended Michigan Normal (now Eastern Michigan) and coached for many years at Onekama and Arcadia, before dying in 1960... In 1946, Quentin Brelsford won the NCAA cross country title for Ohio Wesleyan. Two years later, he finished 6th in the Olympic Trials at 5000m. In later life, he was a longtime track official in central Florida... Lou Scott starred at Arizona State and competed in the 5000m at the 1968 Olympics... Ron Kutchinski never lost a high school half-mile race; he won the Big 10 half for Michigan and made the 1968 Olympic team...Ron Phillips competed for Illinois, and ran on their NCAA Indoor winning 4 x 8 in 1972... Keith Young starred at Tennessee.
